Meet Kimberly Gidcumb, CYT/RN
Kimberly Gidcumb, CYT/RN
The beautiful, loving spirit of “Kim G.” comes shining through every time she graces the yoga room with her happy presence. Kim is a ‘people person’ who loves the Lord, and has a big heart for giving – spiritually, physically and materially – in her daily life.
Kim brings a confidence and sureness with her which has made her classes some of the most popular of all our offerings.
She is a true perfectionist, and is her own toughest critic when teaching her amazing yoga classes. But this very attribute has pushed her to become better in literally every class she leads at Hot Yoga. You will find yourself inspired when taking class with her, because you aren’t simply “taking” a class, you are living a joyful moment of awakening in your mind and body… as well as sharing Kim”s love of everything and everyone through her life being led by the Holy Spirit.
Kim enjoys music as a talented pianist and vocalist, and thus relishes the creating of various music profiles to give her students that gentle extra push as they hear everything from Christian contemporary to pop, orchestrated scores, and classic R & B.
Kim enrolled in Tony Bishop’s innovative yoga training program in November 2010 after practicing regularly for two years at the studio. She has a strong background in anatomy and physiology as a Registered Nurse and continuing medical student, and brings that knowledge into class for the benefit of every student. Her diverse background and super positive outlook are expressed best through Kim’s own words: “I believe in living life to the fullest… never losing hope, being passionate, laughing, smiling, and loving others. I have been a Registered Nurse for 6 years, and I am currently in graduate school at WKU finishing a degree in Advanced Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. I began practicing at Hot Yoga Bowling Green a couple of years ago when a friend continued to insist that this type of “workout” was completely different than anything I had ever experienced. Being healthy has always been important to me, and I was looking for more than just the usual gym routine. After coming to class I noticed an immediate difference in my flexibility, and the mental clarity I was able to obtain in my heart and mind. I believe in finding that balance mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically through prayer with God, and finding time to get away to be refreshed and renewed.”
