Meet Ashley Buchanon
Ashley Buchanon, CYT

Ashley Buchanon is one of the happiest people, and thus one of the happiest instructors we have ever known at Hot Yoga Bowling Green. She is a sixth grade teacher at Rockfield Elementary School in Warren County, and is a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ. Her love for others is evident in her everyday life, extending beyond her elementary students and her yoga students at Hot Yoga. Ashley’s gift is unconditional joy – and that makes for an incredible teacher of yoga. She walks the walk, as well as talking the talk… so be prepared to be inspired, and maybe even smiling when you didn’t really expect to do so, when taking one of Ashley’s wonderfully fun classes. Ashley has completed yoga intensive training with HYBG director Tony Bishop, is currently training with Tony and continues to study, practice and research all aspects of yoga from historical and futuristic perspectives. She is a true yoga scholar, and an outstanding yoga teacher from all angles of approach.
Ashley coaches some of the most talented academic teams ever in Warren County, and is gifted in communication skills with students and their parents. She loves exploring the 84 asanas of Hatha yoga as well as their countless adaptations and variations.
Ashley introduces herself in her own words: “Hello all! I’m Ashley White Buchanon, more commonly known around the studio as Ashley Double-You, or Ashley Double-You “B”! My Hot Yoga fascination began about seven years ago when it was just a workout option, as I also went (sporadically) to the gym, walked at the park (because it was free), dabbled in a few aerobic classes (to get a little sweat going on), basically I was a casual exerciser. Hot Yoga quickly became an addiction, as I found something – different, positive and exciting!
The more I came to Hot Yoga, the more confident I became in myself and the more I loved it! It was amazing to me when the people who worked the front desk didn’t just smile and nod… they knew me! And I quickly started to become my own guru—deciding it was up to me to assess how hard I pushed myself! Eventually, I pushed so hard, I gained my CYT and a whole yoga FAMILY, complete with parents. I love the fact that each day one practices yoga is a brand new experience. In the hot room it’s just you and the mirror; whatever has happened is in the past and you are now in the present with a clear mind. It just makes sense!
Hot Yoga is my go-to place. It’s where I feel the most comfortable but also the most challenged. In my classes you will experience the physical, mental, and spiritual power of yoga. My goal is to help your mind feel at peace and inspire you to learn more about yourself, just as I have learned from others. When I’m not instructing or taking classes, I still teach: I am a 6th grade teacher at Rockfield Elementary where we also do yoga to open our hearts and minds to new things! I also enjoy music of all kinds, exploring new places, and following Jesus.”
