Hot Yoga Becoming Popular with Athletes

As daily demands become greater for athletes, coaches, trainers and even yoga instructors themselves, Hot Yoga is becoming "hotter" than ever before.  The healing effects of the ancient art, especially with the addition of controlled heat and humidity, have recently gained tremendous popularity with athletes of every level from high school to professionals of the NBA and the NFL.
Restoring the body to its optimum state is attainable, as many injured runners, basketball players, and weekend warriors are discovering through Hatha Yoga practice in a number of specialized studios throughout the U.S. and abroad.  These facilities feature specially-trained instructors who have completed certifications in safely presenting a prescribed sequence of postures (asanas) in a highly-heated and humidified room under stringent climate control.
As Hatha Yoga instructor Tony Bishop of Hot Yoga Bowling Green (KY) explains, "When a recovering athlete has received his or her doctor's go-ahead to resume physical exertion, the no-impact feature of yoga is attractive as an alternative to 'beating and banging' the joints and ligaments into submission.  Hot Yoga is all the more healing and restorative, as the warming effects of heat and humidity, along with correctly performing the asanas, sets the perfect stage for jump-starting muscles and overtaxed joints.  It makes sense for anyone who is concerned about improving the condition of their body."
Bishop recently opened Hot Yoga Bowling Green in this south central Kentucky college town, to bring the benefits of the practice to an area he says is ready for growth in the wellness community.  "There are some wonderful programs and fitness professionals here, as there are across the country", Bishop said.  "...and I feel that the Hot Yoga experience is one that many will find complementary to their lifestyle as we continue to grow throughout the region".
Yoga seeks not only to restore and heal, but to offer stress relieving benefits to anyone who leads a busy life, from the hardcore athlete to the Mom and Dad who need some time of their own to disconnect from worry for just a while.   ---- Tony Bishop can be reached at Hot Yoga Bowling Green by calling (270) 793-0011 or (270) 646-7814.
